Hastingues, Medieval Fortified Village in landes, South-West of France

Описание: Yesterday, westie Jahan and I were in this beautiful medieval village in Landes, called Hastingues. The door was built in 1307. Some of the houses are very old and still have their building date on it. It is very green and well-maintained, the inhabitants are welcoming.
Although it's far from the bigger cities from Landes or Basque Country, it had a strategic position because of the river that was carrying the goods between North and South, but also between Bearn and Basque Country. That's why, as an important harbour, it was fortified. This is what we call "a bastide" (fortified village).
