How to record the steel tongue drum:
I used a $15 piezo contact microphone pickup attached to the 12 inch, 13 note steel tongue drum through a Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface into Ableton Live Lite 10 and used some reverb and delay.
MIDI controller is Miditech minicontrol-32.
P.S. I've been using the Acer Aspire 5 laptop for music production for a few months now and find it a great budget laptop for this purpose.
