The results of the eighth-term Legislative Council (LegCo) election of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were unveiled early Monday. All the 90 new-term LegCo members have been elected. They are made up of 40 seats elected by the Election Committee, 30 by functional constituencies, and 20 by geographical constituencies through direct elections. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said the election is important for high-quality democracy that aligns with China's "One Country, Two Systems" policy.
