This was a tricky one.
Got in this GE washer and it through the usual 8-9 codes but the #3 kept coming back. So we run the spin test and it points toward the hall sensor. Nope. So I change the belt just for the heck of it. Turns out it’s the control board. And thanks to an awesome commenter STREETKOMBAT I found out you have to test for dc volts at the board when testing the hall sensor. Thank you thank you thank you!
