African migrants lose hope in Bulgaria, protesters fight for a Tbilissi park, and more

Story 1: Bulgaria
We begin at the eastern border of Europe, in Bulgaria, which has seen a surge in asylum seekers in the past few years. Many of these people come from Syria and Afghanistan, but also from countries in Sub Saharan Africa that have been ravaged by conflict. They are all trying to obtain refugee status, but the wait is long. And in the meantime, there are very few spots in refugee housing centres, and this is creating a lot of tension. Louis, who an asylum seeker from the Democratic Republic of Congo, was staying with friends at one of these centres in Sofia - without permission - when a police raid took place. Here's his story.
Story 2: Georgia
A park threatened by a construction project, and protesters as jovial as they are determined... This sounds a lot like the beginning of the demonstrations in Istanbul's Gezi park, but it takes place in Tbilissi in Georgia. A real estate developer has started building a big hotel in the middle of Vake park, on a parcel of land that the city sold off. However demonstrators quickly blocked the construction. Our next Observer is going to show us around the protesters' camp...
