ABOUT BRIAN LEVY:
Brian Levy is a Casting Director based in Toronto Canada, successfully casting for television, feature film and commercial projects in Canada, the United States and Europe since 1985. He came to casting indirectly starting in the industry as an actor, training at the prestigious Vancouver Playhouse Acting School. While at the Playhouse Brian had the honour of being cast in the North American Premier of Red Devil Battery Sign and the world premier of The Notebook of Trigorin, both new works by renowned American playwright, Tennessee Williams who was on hand throughout.

In the early 1980’s Brian worked at a variety of positions in the industry: Publicist, manager of Ron East’s Mime Company Unlimited and then as a P.A with Dalton Fenske and Friends, a Toronto based commercial and film production company. Leaving DFF Brian found his way into casting by becoming assistant and subsequently invited to partner with one of the cities top casting directors. He was a natural and quickly became a staple in the Toronto and Canadian casting community. He understood acting, auditioning and seemed to have a decent head for business. Today his resume is impressive, diverse and reflective of his unique style as a casting director.

Brian has a tremendous passion for acting, actors and the process. This is reflected in his casting, professional relationships and how he takes up space in the world. Those who work with Brian understand his dedication and doggedness in finding the right actors for any given role.

Brian is also an accomplished producer and director theatrically. He is one of the founding producers and creators of Radium Productions and their acclaimed show The Radium Radio Hour, a live radio event. Brian co-wrote with Perry Mucci and directed an original radio serial, The Port Lovely Chronicles for The Radium Radio Hour. This show has been performed and broadcast several times to critical acclaim. Brian was also on the Toronto producing team for the hit show, Sex Tips For Modern Girls, and was one of the producers of a successful run of Neil LaBute’s disturbing drama In A Forest Dark and Deep at Theatre Passe Muraille’s back space in Toronto.

Also an accomplished teacher and coach, Brian is proud to be on the faculty of Seneca Polytechnic’s diploma program, Acting For Film and Television program since 2012 teaching audition technique and acting for the camera. Most recently giving a guest lecture to students in the acting program at Nazareth University in Rochester NY.

Brian is a member of CSA (Casting Society of America) and is a member in good standing of The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
