Restoration of 50% : Why Delay: There is no official communication issued by the Bank as to when Hon’ble Delhi High Court order shall be complied with. Recall that on 7th November,23 Counsel for the Govt informed the court that Committee has recommended for payment of pension at uniform rate -50% . Counsel further informed that Competent Authority has approved the recommendations of the Committee. On 10th November, DFS communicated approval of the Competent Authority and advised to take necessary steps to. It’s understood that Bank followed the process laid down in Sec 50(4) of SBI Act, obtained consent of the RBI and ECCB adopted the resolution to effect amendment to SBI Employees Pension Regulations and forwarded to the DFS for notifying the amendment by Gazette notification which is still not issued and in the meantime more than 3 months have gone yet no information when Bank would finally pay ?
As per my information, Gazette notification may be issued within this week .
Several queries have been received from learned friends as to whether it can’t be done pending issue of Gazette notification?
In this context, I share Banks’ circular of 25th August,2006 ( courtesy Sri Antony D’cuto) where you would observe under similar circumstances payment was released pending amendment to the Regulations
I wish FSBIPA & ASBIOF take up this issue with the Bank.

While I explained to all affiliate GSs, still I have been receiving many queries from senior retiree colleagues regarding one time ex gratia payment agreed by IBA to be paid to all pensioners retired till 31.10.2023
I once again clarify that it is a monthly payment of fixed ex gratia amount which will be paid to all our Pensioners in addition to Pension amount they are drawing.
Amount will be decided soon in future meetings to be held in jan 2024. Going to be tangible amount in thousands of ruprees. We shall ensure that more senior a pensioner more ex gratia amount payable.
One time only means that IBA is not committing for increase in this exgratia amount in future settlements. But whatever is decided this time, will continue to be paid per month.
Also since we have written ‘without prejudice’, while signing MOU we dont forego our right to demand Pension updation as per provisions of Pension Regulations and as updated in RBI.
Please clarify to our senior colleagues, who continue to raise these issues. Please explain that this issue is very dear to UFBU constituents. I
