Welcome to my next episode from a cleaned man cave: I have an Ensoniq SQ2 on the desk with a non working front panel and keybed, but working LCD and synth engine when played by MIDI. Se how I analysed this, and gained some understanding how the Ensoniq SQ works.
At the end a story about how I got confused about an empty IC socket and what this has to do with Ensoniq's Sound gen IC (the "OTIS") and product roadmap of the times.
