眼睛是靈魂之窗，白內障對長者生活影響尤甚。84歲的梁伯患有白內障多年，病情日漸嚴重，令他難以閱讀報章及外出用膳。港安醫院慈善基金荃灣理事會早前資助他完成白內障手術，手術後梁伯視力清晰不少，「現在可以自己煮飯煲湯，基金會對我幫助很大，非常感謝」。

梁伯原本在公立醫院覆診，惟公院輪候白內障手術需時，他亦未能負擔私院費用，「排期要4年，4年我已看不見了，幸好有港安醫院慈善基金幫助我，幫我做手術的李熾禮醫生 又醫術高明」。整體而言，粱伯感謝基金會迅速的安排。

「申請「金睛火眼慈善籌款行動」 後，在兩個月內已經成功完成手術，負責手術的李熾禮醫生又醫術高明。」

The eyes are the windows to the soul, and cataracts have a particularly devastating effect on the lives of the elderly. 84-year-old Uncle Leung has been suffering from cataracts for many years, and his deteriorating condition has made it difficult for him to read the newspaper or go out for meals. The Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation (HKAHF), Board of Governors – Tsuen Wan (BOG-TW) has subsidized him to undergo cataract surgery. After the surgery, Uncle Leung's vision became much clearer. He said, "Now I can cook and make soup by myself. The Foundation has been of great help to me, and I am truly thankful."

As he couldn't afford the cost of private healthcare, Uncle Leung originally had his follow-up consultation in a public hospital, but the waiting time was too long. He mentioned, "The waiting time was four years, and within those four years, I would have lost my sight. Fortunately, the Foundation came to my aid, and Dr. Li Chi Lai, who performed the surgery, did an excellent job." Overall, he appreciated the prompt arrangements.
