BRIAN SHARP ORGANIST, 1987 CONCERT PART 1

MY TRIBUTE TO THE LATE BRIAN SHARP.
Brian had a rare gift of making an organ sound like a large orchestra, in this video you can see his technique of playing two keyboards with one hand, or the same in addition with the other hand, resulting in a multi track sound effect, truly the "Magic of Brian Sharp"
On the day of the concert, i traveled from London to pick up Brian From Sandford Park in Dorset, where he was resident organist and drove him to the London Olympia BMF for a afternoon concert playing the Kawai SR6. Brian was very relaxed on arrival for the concert ( i think it was because he did not have to drive )
On finishing the concert, I then had to return Brian to Sandford Park for an evening concert.

Back In 1982 i went on tour of the uk with Brian and the KAWAI T30 four manual concert organ as sound engineer for the Lewisham Organ Center, also touring with us was Harold Rich (BBC pianist) playing the KAWAI EP308 electric grand in concert with Brian. "Land of hope and glory" was very memorable.

I would also like to mention another organist, Andrew Gilbert, who was the Demonstrator for Kawai organs in the 1980`s, it was Andrew`s feed back to Kawai Japan on the E550 organ which lead to the DX900 and finally to the SR5,6 and 7 range of organs.
Also at that time ( 1979/80) the £30,000 Kawai T30 organ was featured at Frankfurt and later at the London music fair, this 4 manual monster was demonstrated at both shows by Andrew, who could show off its technical complexity with ease, Andrew and Brian were the main artists commissioned by Kawai to perform on the T30 and T50 organs in Japan.
Andrew is still teaching music and computer skills in Newhaven.
The T30 is still in full working order, now resides in Ferndown Dorset
