In this video I look at the Osaki VCR34H which is very similar to the Amstrad VCR6000/VCR6100, Hinari VXL8 and VXL12, Sentra VX8500LP and VX8600LP, Nikkai J1, Osaki VCR34H, SEC VCR-4530 and also used by Funai? (I seem to remember!)
It is the machine so many techs back in the 90s loved to hate but if looked after, they can be a great piece of history and I really am so happy the owner of this machine wants to keep this machine going.
It will be back to have idler gears plus possibly a new complete head assembly (drum, guide rail ends etc) when I can get hold of them to make it as good as possible.
Issues with these are many though, from the extra tight pinch roller screw that they all had to the flimsy metal assemblies, lack of electronic adjustment and weak motors but they still perform well given the budget nature of them.
Please do like and subscribe - I really so appreciate the support.
