This is a very rare live performance of one of Gilbert’s eldest oldies, written in the 1960’s, “Came To See Me Yesterday (In The Merry Month Of)”.
Already a dozen versions of this song are available on YouTube (amongst which versions by Sydney Elliott and by Amboy Dukes (UK)) but this is a rare performance of the master himself.
It is part of the TV-special “Gilbert In Person”, broadcasted by Dutch television broadcaster TROS, on 30 September 1971.
Next to “Nothing Rhymed”, “Thunder And Lightning”, “We Will”, “Too Much Attention”, “Matrimony” and “Bye Bye” (not sung live but partly already available on YouTube) Gilbert performed “Came To See Me Yesterday (In The Merry Month Of)” and live!
