This event examines some of the historical Canadian trials with LSD, while it remained a legal substance, and considers how the drug and its supporters dealt with challenges, first from the medical community and later from political and moral authorities concerned about the abusive characteristics of the drug.
Erika Dyck is a Professor and a Canada Research Chair in the History of Health & Social Justice. She is the author of several books and is currently co-editing 'A Global History of Psychedelics' (under contract with MIT Press). Erika is also a Board Member of Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plants and Associate Director of Chacruna Canada.
