I HATE ALL MOSQUITOES... EXCEPT FOR THESE...

Описание: I hate all mosquitoes... Except for these... Did you know some of these little a**holes actually pollinate flowers? Out of 3500 mosquito species. Almost all male mosquitoes help pollinate flowers. And it's only about 3% of the mosquito species that have the biting females that carry disease. That's only about 105 out of 3500 Now, we have every reason to hate those 105 species that bite us. But the other 3,395 species, most of those are very needed and under appreciated in the plant world. For example, there would be a lot less chocolate in the world without one of these mosquito species. Yes, mosquitoes (from the Ceratopogonidae family) play a major pollination role in chocolate. Yields of cacao pods are often doubled when those mosquitoes are present on the farm. There's another mosquito named the elephant mosquito (Toxorhynchites rutilus) because it's larger than all other mosquito species, and both the males and females get their food only from flower nectar, or rotting fruit. Where most mosquitoes filter bacteria and algae in the water to get their food, elephant mosquitoes eat other mosquito larva, including the kind that spread diseases. We actually have these kind in the US, but they're not as widespread. So yes, while all biting mosquitoes just need to f**k off, just remember, we wouldn't have some of our favorite foods without the other ones.
