transcript: Hi guys here is Carl the landscape guy and today im gonna tear down this old hut. In this area here two new garages will be built so the hut has to go. Its in poor condition so it wouldnt make sence to repair or reuse it. However, the customer wants to use it for firewood. I have never destroyed a hut with a chainsaw but I can imagine that this is gonna be fun. But before we start, we make sure that we took out everything that was remaining inside. I take off the metal hinges to remove the doors. Now its time to get the chainsaw. I use a small Stihl chainsaw with a 35cm bar. It is very important to make sure to catch no nails, screws or other metal parts that can sit in the boards with the chain. So I start on one wall and saw from top to bottom. Then the next vertical cut about 40 cm away from the first one. This way the wood is cut to the right length to use as firewood. I work my way from wall to wall as of course the stability of the hut decreases. It could already collapse at any time, so if you want to do it like me be careful. But this way you dont need to cut each board separately which speeds up the process a lot. Of course the doors need to be taken apart too. I leave the corners for now and put two cuts at the gable sections to let the hut collapse. Now the roof can be cut to small pieces, while I will not let the chain come in contact with roofing felt. Check the boards you cutting for nails and screws before cutting. Alright so far most of the hut is cut into pieces. We are stacking the firewood neatly and use one of the old tar paper to protect it from moisture. It was fun destroying the hut today and i hope you enjoyed the video.
