The Sindh Government has made a significant decision to further strengthen urban security.
Under this decision, the government has approved linking the indoor and outdoor cameras of the Peoples Bus Service and EV Taxi Service with the Safe City Network.
Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) installed in the Peoples Bus Service and EV Taxi Service will be integrated with the Safe City Project.
He said the purpose of this decision is to make the public transport system safer and to modernize urban security infrastructure.
After the integration of cameras, there will be substantial improvement in traffic management, security monitoring, and public safety measures in Karachi and other major cities, he added.
Sharjeel Inam Memon also mentioned that the Sindh Government is taking strong steps to launch a modern EV Taxi Service by December.
He stated that citizens of Sindh, especially Karachi, will benefit from affordable, safe, and eco-friendly transportation.
A delegation of investors met with Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in Karachi.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Transport Asad Zaman, Managing Director of Sindh Mass Transit Authority Kanwal Nazim Bhutto, and other officials.
Private investors presented proposals regarding the structure of the EV Taxi project, establishment of charging stations, and operational models.
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that there is an urgent need for a modern transportation system in Sindh, particularly in a large city like Karachi.
He said the Sindh Government aims to launch the EV Taxi Service by December to provide citizens with a modern and better alternative to traditional transport.
Sharjeel Inam Memon added that the EV Taxi Service will provide comfortable travel at lower fares.
He noted that the EV Taxi project would serve as an attractive investment opportunity for investors.
In the initial phase, the service will be launched in Karachi, and later it will be expanded to other major cities.
The minister also revealed that the government is introducing a Pink EV Taxi Service for women, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for female passengers.
To ensure efficiency, transparency, and safety, the EV Taxi Service will include Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and other modern monitoring technologies, Sharjeel Inam Memon said.
He added that the Sindh Government values public-private partnerships to promote sustainable transport and environmental improvement.
Sharjeel Inam Memon concluded that the EV Taxi Service project will not only provide public convenience but also play a vital role in the province’s economic development.
