Why You Probably Won't See MOUNT FUJI... (5 Day Experience)

Описание: Getting the best view of Mount Fuji is high up on most Japan itineraries. Unfortunately, viewing the famous snow capped volcano is not that easy...

We arrived in August - when it doesn't really look like the snow capped icon at all - and spent 5 days cycling around Lake Kawaguchiko and the Fuji 5 Lakes. Finding out EXACTLY why Fuji is known as the "shy mountain".

5 DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 - we took the train from Tokyo to Lake Kawaguchiko. As the train pulled into the station, we got some amazing view of the mountain (make sure you sit on the left hand side of the commuter train). We also saw some incredible views from the rooftop of our hostel: K’s House

Day 2 - we took the train to Shimioshida, home of the Chureito Pagoda, widely known as the best view you can see of Mount Fuji.

Day 3 - We cycled around the circumference of Lake Kawaguchiko. There are a lot of things to do around there, including flower gardens, restaurants and shops. We also rented a swan pedalo to try and get a view of Fuji.

Day 4 - We took a day trip to Lake Yamanakoko by the public bus. Stopping at the sunflower fields on the way. We also took the famous Swan Ferry across the lake.

Day 5 - We left the lake and headed back to Tokyo by bus, then train.
