Why India Allowed Iranian Warship to Dock? S. Jaishankar Reveals

Описание: India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed Parliament regarding the escalating West Asia conflict and the docking of an Iranian warship in India.

According to Jaishankar, Iran had requested permission after reporting technical issues while participating in an international fleet review. Iran sent the request on 28 February, and India approved the docking on 1 March.

The Iranian vessel later docked at Kochi port with 183 crew members, many of whom were young cadets. The crew is currently being hosted at Indian naval facilities.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi thanked India for what he called a humane gesture. Jaishankar said India allowed the docking on humanitarian grounds, highlighting India’s commitment to helping sailors in distress.
