Right-Winger Gets Deported After Announcing He'd Break Into Billie Eilish's Home — Then Plays Victim

Описание: A man in Australia made posts online joking about flying to America and moving into Billie Eilish's mansion. So far so internet. Then he actually bought a plane ticket. Then he actually traveled to the United States. Then he got detained by DHS for 30 hours, questioned about his relationship with Billie Eilish and his intentions to trespass, and was escorted onto a plane by armed guards back to Australia.
And now he is upset about it.
Let's be extremely clear about what happened here legally. In the United States, announcing your intention to commit a crime and then traveling to the location where you said you would commit that crime is itself a crime. The joke defense evaporates the moment you purchase the ticket. This is not a gray area. This is settled law. A man who tells an undercover officer online that he is coming to meet a minor and then drives across state lines to do it has committed a crime before he arrives at the meeting point. Same principle. Same legal framework.
This man told the internet he was going to fly to America and enter someone's home without permission. Then he flew to America. DHS asked him how he knew Billie Eilish and whether he intended to trespass. He apparently found these questions unreasonable.
But here is the part that is almost too perfect to be fiction. This man is right-wing. He supports strong border enforcement. He supports the surveillance of social media by government agencies. He supports the exact immigration and security policies that flagged his posts, monitored his travel, detained him at the border, and put him on a plane home.
He is not a victim of a system he opposes. He is a victim of a system he champions. He advocated for mass social media surveillance — and got surveilled. He supports aggressive border enforcement — and got enforced upon. He is literally the example his own political movement uses to justify these policies and he arrived at the conclusion that he is the wronged party.
That is cognitive dissonance at a level that deserves to be studied academically. You cannot simultaneously be the person committing the act, advocating for the policies that stopped you, and presenting yourself as the victim of those policies. Those three positions cannot coexist in a single coherent worldview. And yet here we are.
And then to top it all off — he is now complaining about being detained as an immigrant in the United States of America. A right-winger. Complaining about immigration detention. After being stopped by right-wing immigration policy. Implemented by an extremist right-wing administration.
You are part of the example and you still missed the point. That genuinely takes talent.
