One of the most over-looked original British Heavy Metal bands whose first album came out in 1970 (So did Black Sabbath and UFO whom are no longer with us) is still delivering on all systems and also making great modern albums.
This somewhat current song, from 2008’s (well, relatively modern) “Wake The Sleeper” could be interpreted as commentating on the U.S. religious right or any extreme and hypocritical religious movement; it’s currently prescient.
Bernie gives it some with warmth, power and glory as does the rest of the band; on full throttle as ever.
This was their belated 50th anniversary concert (delayed by Covid) and they delivered; as they always do.
