Justin and Adrienne scenes chronologically, May-December 1988
Justin goes undercover to take down the Torres family, but he can't tell Adrienne what he is doing. Instead, he tells her he has to go back to the Kiriakis family business after Victor is shot down, and Adrienne refuses to go back to the mansion with him. The two struggle with their separation as Justin works undercover, and Adrienne tries to make him jealous with the new doofus in town, Emilio. When the Torres group is apprehended and Justin tells Adrienne what he was doing, she is still resistant to return to him and the Kiriakis mansion. As a result of Adrienne saying they're over, Justin has a one-night-stand with Anjelica. Adrienne soon changes her mind and goes back to Justin, neither one of them knowing that Anjelica is now pregnant with Justin's baby. As Justin becomes more and more wrapped up in work, Adrienne feels pressure to become pregnant again but can't, and remains uncomfortable living with Victor. Emilio works as their gardener and Adrienne seeks distraction and comfort in him, arousing Justin's jealousy. Victor tries to bring an old family friend in town to seduce Justin away from Adrienne, but this plan fails. Unfortunately, Adrienne grows more distant from Justin and eventually has a one-night-stand with Emilio. When Justin finds out he is devastated and vengeful, planning to kill Emilio in a rigged stable collapse after Adrienne states she is moving back in with her mother. When Justin hears that it is Adrienne who is in the stables, he rushes to save her and they are both caught in the roof collapse.
