On a day meant for celebration and remembrance, a sudden tragedy struck the New River Triangle when a boat exploded with people onboard including children at 5:45pm on Memorial Day. Our team was on scene gathering critical information on what occurred that left multiple people hospitalized, some with severe injuries.
Being provided surveillance video and eyewitness interviews of the explosion, we captured the urgency of first responders and the public administering aid and transporting victims from Ft Lauderdale to Jackson Memorial Hospital Burn Unit in Miami for immediate treatment. As we spoke to families outside the hospital searching for answers, our team coverage reporting provided crucial details of events to a city left in shock.
