A reliable vacuum supply is crucial to Atlantic Styro’s production process. No EPS without liquid ring pumps! Producing Expanded Polystyrene is a hot and humid process, and we need vacuum to evacuate the steam that is used. Liquid Ring Pumps are the ideal solution for this application.

Liquid ring technology relies on water. The steam coming from the EPS production process is no problem, on the contrary. When it condenses it is absorbed as part of the pump’s operation. This technology offers the most efficient solution for applications with a high vapor load. The closed loop water circuit ensures that you never need to worry about your pump running out of water! This total recovery setup also maximizes energy savings and reduces water costs.

Our liquid ring vacuum pumps offer superior energy efficiency. Because this solution has two Variable Speed Drives instead of only one. The first one regulates the motor speed, to make sure the LRP delivers exactly what is needed for the process. The second one regulates the water circulation pump. It optimizes the water flow, and it stabilizes the vacuum level. Our patented algorithm maximizes energy efficiency.
