The Central National Democratic Alliance government has given a major push to the long-pending Polavaram Project by setting a clear deadline of June 2027 for its completion.

Along with previously released funds, the Centre is ready to provide an additional ₹3,300 crore, which is expected to accelerate the project’s progress. Both the Centre and the Andhra Pradesh government are now moving in sync to complete this national project.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has also expressed confidence that the project will be completed before the Godavari Pushkaralu.

Once completed, Polavaram will provide drinking and irrigation water to coastal districts and act as a strong foundation for the state’s economic growth. Considered an 85-year-old dream, its completion would mark a historic milestone for Andhra Pradesh.
