In this video, we record electric bass with two dynamic microphones in the same price range that are often used for guitar miking: the Shure SM57 and the Sennheiser e609. Both mics are placed 7 inches away from the cab and record the exact same performance. Each mic is pointed towards the same 10-inch driver at the same distance from the center. There is no EQ or any processing involved in the recording.
Here's our setup:
Fender Jazz Bass / Fender Precision Bass / Eastwood Classic 4 / Warwick Streamer LX -- Gallien Krueger MB500 -- Markbass 102 HF -- One of the two mics -- Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 -- Cubase.
No EQ or processing is done on the tracks.
