With support from OCHA and the Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF), COOPI-Cooperazione Internazionale launched a project in June 2023 to provide immediate and sustainable WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) solutions for drought-affected communities in Baidoa District, South West State, Somalia.
Through solar-powered water systems, hygiene kits, and community training, we helped restore water access in nine underserved rural areas, benefiting over 19,000 people.
Key results:
-3 water supply systems rehabilitated
-1,500 hygiene kits distributed
-15,334 people reached through hygiene promotion
-3 water management committees established for long-term sustainability
