The wait for the decriminalisation of politics is only getting longer. Supreme Court on Sept 25th ruled that it can't bar criminals from contesting elections. The top court has now urged Parliament to come up with an effective law. Not just that! In a bid to cleanse the political system, it has also asked political parties to list out the criminal cases pending against each candidate, so that voters can make an informed choice. The apex court's decision to keep off this contentious topic has dashed all hopes of clean politics ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
