It's safe to say that R9 Fury products aren't really designed to be run at 1080p resolutions - lower-tier cards like GTX 980 and R9 390X put up a hell of a good fight against the AMD flagships to the point where the 980 can even beat the Furies on some titles, even at reference clocks.
And that's kind of weird: Nvidia's alternatives - GTX 980 Ti and Titan X - don't scale that well at 1080p against the GTX 980, but you can still see a 20-25% boost depending on the model of 980 you're comparing it to. Here are the games we tested:

01:10 - Assassin's Creed Unity
02:20 - Shadow of Mordor
03:01 - Ryse: Son of Rome
03:38 - Crysis 3
05:09 - Battlefield 4
06:06 - Tomb Raider
