Yogesh Kumar Dewangan received one of the most prestigious fellowships in the country, the Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF). He is a PhD scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering , IIT Bhilai at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai. He has 3 US Patents and has published 6 conference papers to date.
He is working on the development of fracture models for sheet metals in single-point incremental forming (SPIF) process under the guidance of Dr Kaushik Bandyopadhyay. SPIF has become more popular these days due to its increased forming capability and is used in automobiles, aerospace, shipbuilding, and many other applications including the medical industry. This research work focuses on the development of finite element models to predict the fracture limit more accurately. Real-time tool path correction using artificial intelligence to have more accurate final shape mostly required for medical applications.
