Описание: On this day in 2022, Assam Government imposing restrictions under section 144 CrPC and deploying thousands of police and armed forces, destroyed two divisions of Doloo Tea Estate by hundreds of bulldozers. About 42 lakhs tea bushes and thousands of shade trees were uprooted without any EIA and Environmental Clearance for construction of a Greenfield Airport in Silchar. This is the 2nd anniversary and 1000s Workers under Asom Mojuri Shramik Union, Doloo garden committee, observed the day as a black day by holding meeting long march in and around the garden abstaining from work as it was not a holiday. At the same time, today they celebrated the victory of their struggle which got approval from the Supreme Court judgement dated 06-05-2024 wherein SC accepted the Destruction of the Tea Estate as illegal as claimed by the workers. They sang, danced and performed cultural programmes at Moynagarh Nachghar (Community Hall) and the adjoining field of the garden.
