6-Horn German Trumpeter Clock Bellow Restoration from the 1870’s

Описание: This short video which gives the viewer a short overview of what the bellow assembly, valves, major components of a 6-Horn German Trumpeter Clock dating to around the 1870’s - 1880’ish entails. The video gives you a non technical glimpse into what a Trumpeter Clock bellow assembly looks like from its interior. It is very common to find such mechanical musical contraptions in this state of disrepair. I have restored numerous cuckoo clock-like example such as this in the past and I am very familiar with the technical challenges and general headaches one encounters when executing a period correct restoration. Usually, most of the work is in undoing and correcting previous “repairs” by those who were perhaps well intentioned but equally inexperienced and dare I say, not so sympathetic to a proper repair; focusing on simply, ‘getting it to work.’

My entire focus is in the preservation, duplication of its construction when new while not trying to ‘over-restore’ a clock assembly to make it look brand new—just work like new or close to it!
