ECRS Mk2 AESA Radar for RAF Eurofighter Typhoon

Описание: BAE Systems and Leonardo UK have signed a £870m contract with the British Royal Air Force to upgrade the Typhoon's radar capability and equip the warplanes with the European Joint Radar System (ECRS) Mk2, one of the world's most advanced radars.

Under the contract, BAE Systems and Leonardo UK will modernize the Eurofighter Typhoon warplanes in the British Royal Air Force (RAF) inventory. With the modernization activities that will continue for 5 years, RAF Typhoon Tranche 3 aircraft will be equipped with ECRS Mk2 radars.

ECRS Mk2 will enable the Typhoon to simultaneously detect, identify and track multiple targets in the air and on the ground. At the same time, the new AESA radar will give the aircraft an advanced electronic warfare capability. On the other hand, the ECRS Mk2 AESA Radar modernization, which will first be carried out on RAF Typhoon Tranche 3 aircraft, will later be exported to Typhoon user countries.
