The Partition of 1947 was one of the deepest wounds on the land of Punjab. Village Gaggar, near Kasur, could not escape this tragedy. It was a time when shared lives, brotherhood, and centuries-old harmony began to break apart.
Sardar Sahib Singh Bholar was a respected and simple-hearted man of village Gaggar. People admired him for his honesty, hard work, and goodwill toward everyone. Sikhs, Muslims, and Hindus all shared bonds of trust and respect with him.
When news of Partition reached the village, the atmosphere changed completely. Fear, chaos, and uncertainty spread everywhere. People were forced to leave their homes to save their lives. Sardar Sahib Singh Bholar tried till the very end to appeal for peace, but the situation soon went beyond anyone’s control.
One day, he too was compelled to leave his beloved village Gaggar. His fields, home, and memories were left behind. Tears filled his eyes and pain filled his heart, yet there was still a small hope for a new beginning in a new land.
