Introduction of the iBox features to design clinical trials in the renal transplantation field by Alexandre Loupy.
The iBox is an algorithm that uses some of the usual parameters captured after transplantation and convert this information into the prognosis of risk of allograft loss at 3, 5 and 7 years ahead.
It can be a precious help in the design of clinical trials: to inform inclusion and exclusion criteria, and for sample size calculation as well as to define the endpoint.
The iBox is a very strong and validated prognostic score, validated in the settings of different populations, randomized control trials and capturing the response to the therapy. It fills the gap into defining surrogate endpoints for renal transplantation-related clinical trials.
