Whenever one visits Taj Mahal, apart from the grandeur of the monument, they are also met with various stories and legends revolving around the place. One such legend is that of the Black Taj Mahal.
According to the legends, Shah Jahan wanted to build one more Taj Mahal for himself on the other bank of river Yamuna, but before he could put that plan to action, he was imprisoned by Aurangzeb.
This concept is an interpretation that what if the Black Taj Mahal was nothing more than the shadow of the White Taj Mahal which falls upon river Yamuna on every full moon night.
Using the metaphor of Taj Mahal this concept explorer the themes of light and shadow, brightness and darkness and the balance which they bring to life.
