Описание: PMHF (Probabilistic Metrics for Hardware Failures), SPFM (Single-Point Fault Metric) and LFM (Latent Fault Metric) are but hardware metrics that facilitate quantitative analysis of random hardware failure of an automotive system /component.

In simpler terms, they measure the extent to which a particular automotive hardware is prone to random failures- say current overload, overheating etc.

These metrics go a long way in making the automotive hardware component fail-safe.

Understanding FMEDA:

Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis, popularly known as FMEDA is a quantitative analysis that uses inputs like FMEA, safety goals etc. to help derive metrics like PMHF, SPFM & LMF as outputs.
