In Franklin, Louisiana, a new era of U.S. shipbuilding is taking shape.
Saronic is investing $300 million to expand our autonomous shipyard — adding 1,500 new jobs over the coming years, more than 300K sq. ft. of new production capacity, and a new large vessel-assembly line to accelerate the build of Marauder - our 180-foot autonomous ship.
This project brings together Louisiana’s world-class maritime workforce, cutting-edge autonomy, and advanced manufacturing to create an integrated ecosystem for large-scale U.S. ship production. With support from state and local partners, we’re driving forward American innovation, strengthening national security, and opening new career pathways across the Gulf Coast.
Construction is underway now, with expanded operations coming online in early 2027.
