New research from the Boston Birth Cohort identifies distinct IgG antibody patterns emerging in early childhood—but not at birth—that are associated with subsequent food allergy. In this interview, Julia W. Angkeow, PhD, of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, explains how high-throughput IgG profiling (PhIP-Seq) maps immune exposure history and helps illuminate immune trajectories in children at risk for food allergy.
Key highlights:
00:07: IgG responses in pediatric food allergy
01:03: Elevated IgG reactivity in peanut- and egg-allergic children
02:07: Why differences were observed in early childhood but not in cord blood at birth
