"In today's video we're going to share some tips with you on how to achieve beautiful and smooth movement in the waltz. For the purposes of this video we're going to stick with dancing basic figures. We'll also be demonstrating for you an incorrect and a correct version as a couple and individually. In this first demonstration, this is the correct method for moving using a coordinated approach of the standing leg and swinging leg.

Now moving into our second demonstration which will be the incorrect version. You should notice immediately a much more stilted and jolty movement in the bodies. Immediately it creates a much less elegant look to the movement. It looks difficult and it feels difficult too. It also has ramifications on posture as your body will be thrown forwards and backwards.

Talysa will now demonstrate for you the incorrect version by herself. You can see that there is a lack of control over the movement and the timing with the rapid accelerations and decelerations. It also makes it difficult to lower at the end of beat three into the drive action on beat one, causing an incorrect rise and fall. And now for the correct version. Immediately from the very first natural turn you can see a much smoother movement into Talysa's body, a correct timing for the rise and lowering actions and overall much greater movement as well as the leg action is more efficient.

And now for the man.
As you can see from step one and two this is the incorrect version. In this demonstration you can see that the body weight is attached very strongly to the swinging leg, making it very difficult for us to control the movement of our body in between our legs and feet known as the division or a middle balance position. This creates a more shallow action. And now for the correct version. You can see that the leg action appears to be slower and longer and fuller and this facilitates a better movement of the body across the floor.

Hope you've enjoyed this video guys and please remember to subscribe to our channel."
