At the intersection of Yonge and Bloor in downtown Toronto, One Bloor West is redefining what’s possible in tall-building design. Rising more than 300 meters, it will be Canada’s first supertall structure, made possible by an innovative system of composite mega columns and inclined steel struts that transfer loads around a column-free retail podium.
The project applies A913 high-strength steel within a new composite column methodology, validated by CTBUH research. The result: a lighter, more efficient structure that maximizes usable space while setting a new benchmark for supertall construction in Canada.
