Bonamanzi Nature reserve KZN our favourite camping site with excellent birding HD

Описание: Bonamanzi Game reserve- near Hluhluwe in KZN is our favourite birding/camping area . It has three different eco-systems on the Reserve, and is a Birding Paradise which has 29 birds on the red data list and over 408 recorded bird species. The Sand Forest area is home to the Pink-Throated Twinspot, Rudd’s Apalis, African Broadbill, Narina Trogon and the Green Malkoha to mention a few. We have also seen Rosy Throated Longclaw, Crowned eagle in a nest and many more.
We have stayed there a number of times in our Kombi Camper. It has lovely walks in the forest and is a Big 4 reserve with no lion. We have heard elephant at night very close to our camp and come across their droppings on our walks. You can also go on guided walks and drives including a river trip. In addition it is close to the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi “Big Five” Reserve and you can arrange guided trips to these reserves from Bonamanzi.
We usually stay in the private camping areas where you have loads of space with your own rustic ablution and kitchen area. If they are not available, the General camping areas are also very good. You can also stay in tree houses in the forest and bungalows etc. They also have a new laager type camping area where everyone has their own ablution block and kitchen area in the middle of the laager. Sites are close together and this is not our cup of tea but each to his own
