OSS Scanner is a free, opt-in vulnerability-scanning service for critical open-source projects that Anthropic launched on October 8, 2026 as part of its Anthropic Cyber Mission. It sends maintainers fully model-generated reports from Anthropic's strongest models, including Claude Mythos, each with a reproducer, an explanation and a candidate patch where available. Anthropic says its models found over 29,000 candidate vulnerabilities in six months, and in an expert review of 97 critical and high-severity findings, 85 (88%) were valid new issues and one was a false positive. Core maintainers enroll by opening a pull request on the anthropics/oss-scanner GitHub repository.
