Pigeon towers are historical monuments in Iran that were built for pigeons so that when the pigeons nest in them, their droppings, which are poured on the floor of the tower, can be collected and used as animal fertilizer for agriculture. Pigeon towers are usually beautiful structures that have many small nests inside them, and each hole is for one pigeon. These buildings are made of thatch and wood. Here is the pigeon house in the village of Tad in the Zayandeh Rood Minareh, Lanjan and Falavarjan regions of Isfahan.
This structure is 700 years old.
