It's time to put the UglyTruck back on the road. After completely re-doing the suspension and swapping the transmission, I am comfortable putting this 2000 Silverado back into the rotation for daily driver duty. Even if it has 326,000 miles on it, the engine still runs great, and with a stronger 4L80e transmission attached, we're ready for some upgrades in the power department.
Background: I started with a bone stock and neglected truck which had a blown 4l60e transmission when I first bought it. First, the transmission was taken care of by installing a stronger 4l80e, and then the entire front suspension was gone through, with new bushings, ball joints, control arms, wheel bearings, NNBS larger brakes, and a 2/4 lowering kit to round out the package. This time, the bed goes back on the truck, and its time to hit the road and see how all the upgrades work out together.
