2025 World's Indigenous Peoples Day

Описание: This year's International Day of the World Indigenous Peoples honours and pays tribute to the immense environmental wisdom of Indigenous communities from every corner of the world. The preceding Indigenous Wisdom Campaign and the commemorative video focus on two elements that are inextricably ingrained in the Indigenous identity, spirituality and survival – water and nature.🌍

Immerse yourself in Indigenous wisdom and discover how burgeoning human rights principles such as ‘the environment as a right holder’ and the ‘rights of future generations, including those still unborn’ - as masterfully propounded by UNHRC Special Rapporteur Surya Deva – can staunchly be encountered in deep-seated spirituality and a pristine life in perfect symbiosis with the environment.

The Geneva Centre calls on all states to provide wide space to Indigenous voices and embed Indigenous environmental wisdom into the workings of COP 30 in #Brazil and the 2026 UN Water Conference in the #UAE.
