In 21st December 2025, NIED will take on a new challenge.
The research team led by NIED works under the Cabinet Office’s SIP Phase 3 theme, “Development of the Smart Network System against Natural Disaster,” specifically in Sub-Project C, “Cross-organizational Information Sharing in Field Response Agencies.” has been developing a common system that allows fire departments, police, and other field response agencies to share information smoothly at disaster sites.

Over the past two years, the project has achieved major technical progress. However, it has also revealed important challenges for real- world use.

To tackle these challenges, NIED will now initiate a new approach！
As the lead research institution, NIED will work closely with field response agencies, create conditions that closely resemble actual disaster front lines, and carry out realistic testing of the information systems.
