Meghalaya CM encourages citizen participation in Budget process as Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma chaired a pre-budget consultation for the 2026–27 fiscal year, engaging with diverse stakeholders from economists to farmer associations to ensure an inclusive, people-centric roadmap. Highlighting Meghalaya’s status as India’s second fastest-growing state with a consistent 10% real GSDP growth post-COVID, Sangma outlined a bold "Vision@2032" to triple the economy through Mission 10, supported by massive capital expenditure and ₹12,100 crore in Externally Aided Projects. The presentation underscored significant strides in high-value tourism—expanding from zero to six 5-star properties—and a 42% reduction in maternal mortality, while the CM urged the public to submit further suggestions via email or the CM Connect helpline ahead of the Budget Session beginning February 16.
