This video derives and discusses the equations that will be used to analyze numerous types of transmission lines in following videos. Maxwell’s equations presented and the general form of the solution for a guided mode is presented and explained. The solution is substituted into Maxwell’s equations to arrive at the starting point for all waveguide analysis. Solution categories for waveguide analysis are given. Last, a summary of the governing equations for each type of waveguide is analysis is given.
