Understand Your Visual Parallax and How to Aim - John Hughes Golf

Описание: Your eyes are always triangulating where you are and how you should move related to a target you're moving to. And when there are 2 or more vantage points the eyes must consider to the same target, a Parallax occurs. And this parallax is a main contributor to why you aim in golf the way you do.

Within this video, John Hughes, PGA Master Professional of Instruction explains to you the concept of visual parallax, and how to use this concept to aim better in golf. Visual parallax causes golfers to aim incorrectly due, mainly closed to their targets, because of your brain's tendency to perceive straight lines. And how those straight lines coincide to create an aim point. Typically when aiming anything, you're standing behind the object you're attempting to aim. Not in golf. You are "astride" the aim or target line. And this is how the parallax is formulated in your brain.

John emphasizes the importance of using alignment sticks and the leading edge of the golf club, to establish great practice habits when aiming any golf club to any target. Doing so crates 90° angles, which coincide with your eyes ability to understand straight lines. Doing so assists all golfers with avoiding the multiple triangulations being "astride" your target line creates, That ultimately lead to you misaiming.
