G-Shock DW-6900 Screen Mod | Part 1

Описание: I've got a great deal on this G-Shock DW-6900MS from a classified site. After wearing it for a couple of days, I (of course) felt the urge to mod it. This time, I'm showing what iterative modding is all about. Along the way, I'll shed some light on the creative process behind my mods — how I find ideas, what techniques I use, and how I experiment.
This is just the first step; the work on the watch is still in progress.

In this episode, I tackle the readability issue of the DW-6900MS's blacked-out negative display by inverting the bottom section of the LCD screen. I experiment with polarizing films. You'll see the complete disassembly process, learn how negative displays actually work (spoiler: it's all about light reflection through layers), and witness the challenges of cutting and replacing polarizing films only on a half of the screen.

The DW-6900MS is one of the blackest G-Shocks out there, and while it looks incredibly stylish, the negative screen can be tough to read. I compare it with other negative display Casios from my collection and explain why some are more readable than others.

This mod is still a work in progress. In the next episode, I'll tackle the red background removal and continue refining the display. Stay tuned for more experimental watch modding!
